SCOTTISH PROSTATE CANCER INITIATIVE

Testing Events

The Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative is a new project which aims to improve early detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer. The Initiative involves a screening programme through which free prostate cancer tests are provided to men aged between 40 and 80. A simple blood sample is all that is required and there is no physical examination involved. Results are sent directly and confidentially to the individual taking the test within 48 hours with advice on next steps, if any are required. Following initial PSA tests, selected samples will be subject to further innovative diagnostic tests with the goal of gathering important data to help guide future screening and treatment protocols.

Research

We are undertaking a major research study into PSA and Free to Total scoring working alongside the University of Manchester. We hope this research will help persuade the Health Authorities to implement a National Prostate Cancer Screening Programme for all men in the UK.

If you would like to help us achieve this, we would ask you to participate by completing this questionnaire. All information will be kept securely and none of the people involved with the research will have any of the personal information. This information will be kept by GFCT.

Would you be happy to complete this questionnaire?

Yes, let's start now No, maybe later

Please note that this questionnaire will take around 5-20 minutes to complete depending on the questionnaire you select. If you have logged on to your PSA tests account then you will be able to save and resume completing it at a later point in time. Also, we can reassure you that all of your responses will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Please also have a note of the results for any PSA tests that you may have had. If you do not have this information, don't worry, you will still be able to complete the questionnaire.
